There are a variety of places to get lacrosse equipment, but here are some good websites we recommend:

Lacrosse Sticks
Complete lacrosse sticks are the best deal to look for.  When ordering a stick, make sure to request hard mesh.  It holds up in foul weather conditions and is easier to manage.  Make sure to get a men's stick.

Lacrosse Gloves

Lacrosse gloves come in a variety of colors and styles.  A player wants gloves that protect the hands and fingers, but are also flexible enough to be comfortable during play.  Gloves come in basically 3 sizes.  They are listed in inches, the distance from the tip of the middle finger to the wrist or cuff.  You want gloves that extend approximately 2 inches past the playes wrist joint. They come in sizes ranging from 8", 10",12", and 13".  Also some brands refer to the sizes as Small, Medium, and Large.  When looking online at equipment, notice that many sites will have
clearance sales on last years model.  These are great chances to get really good equipment at great prices.  Make sure it is the right size and team colors before you buy.

Arm Guards / Elbow Pads

Arm guards come in a variety of sizes, colors, styles, and brands.  You need to choose right style for your position.  Attackman and Midfielders need what are called arm guards.  These are designed to give the maximum protection to the elbow and forearm area.  Elbow pads are much smaller and have minimal protection from stick checks.  These are normally worn by defense.  Goalies must also wear arm protection from shots more than anything.  When choosing this equipment, always try them on whenever possible.

Shoulder Pads
Shoulder pads are very important that they fit properly.  They need to come down in the chest area enough to protect the sternum and upper rib cage area.  They must also extend down the back over the shoulder blades.  Lacrosse pads are much lighter than football or hockey pads.  They are designed to protect the player from being struck with another crosse or the ball, not a full body check or "football" hit.  Use the following size chart as a guide for you.  You also want to look at the position you will play in determining what kind of shoulder pads you need.  Attackman and Midfielders need something that allows maximum mobility but good protection.   Goalies need a seperate piece of equipment, called a chest protector.  These are similar to those worn by catchers in baseball, but have more padding in the ribs area and around to the sides of the torso.
